Germany – Italy
Germany hosts Italy at the Borussia-Park in one of the greatest classics in the world of soccer. Allow us to preview this game for you in our regular football winning tips. Let’s go!
These two teams are very close to each other in Group 3’s standings at the moment – just two points separate them. Italy are leaders, but Germany could top the standings if they win on Tuesday. This gives Hansi Flick’s team some serious motivation to do it.
Germany’s previous game in this group wasn’t that successful, though. The four-time world champions faced Hungary, but only got a point with a 1-1 draw in Budapest. This was Germany’s third consecutive draw in the group – they still look for their first win. The wing-back Jonas Hoffman scored Germany’s only goal in the game.
Most likely Hansi Flick will look for changes again. Players like Muller, Gundogan, Sane and Brandt are contenders for a starting spot against the European champion.
Italy will try to keep the first place in the group which means that they shouldn’t lose on Tuesday. So far Roberto Mancini’s team is unbeaten in the Nations League 2022/23 season – one win and two draws from three matches played.
On Saturday Italy faced England at the Molineux and won a strategic point after a 0-0 draw. Mancini rotated his line-up once again and it wasn’t a surprise. Players like Dimarco, Gatti, Pessina, Tonali, Frattesi and Scamacca got the opportunity to start.
Gianluca Scamacca is still looking for his first goal with the national team. The 23-years old striker has played six times for Italy so far, but without scoring. He’s an interesting prospect for the future and Mancini sees it too.
That’s the football winning tips for the Nations League soccer classic between Germany and Italy. Let’s hope to see another great game between these two historic rivals.
