Italy Seria A – Inter-Roma

Inter hosts Roma in the big derby of the 21th round of the Italian Serie A. The match is going to be played at the Stadio San Siro on Sunday night.

It’s just three points that separate these two teams. Inter are currently 3rd in the Serie A with 42 points, while Roma are 5th with 39. It’s curious that Roma’s former manager Luciano Spalletti is now facing his former team in his new role of Inter coach. Let’s see how good Spalletti knows Roma.

Inter started the new season in brilliant way and for a week they were even leaders in the Serie A. But in their last five games the Nerrazurri didn’t win a single game, which made them trail on 9 points behind the leader Napoli. Because of that massive slump in Inter’s form, now it’s difficult to say that the team has chance to fight for the Scudetto.

Meanwhile Roma continue the fight for a Top 4 finish and a place in the Champions League. Right now the Wolves are trailing on just one point behind the 4th Lazio, so the goal is more than realistic.

In their last five matches Roma won just once – against Cagliari, so this is why these two teams look very even in terms of performance right now. They are both in a bad shape at the moment.

For this game Roma can’t use the injured Rick Karsdorp, while Diego Perotti, Daniele De Rossi and Gregoire Defrel are all doubtful for the derby.

Inter can’t use the Brazilian central defender Joao Miranda, who is injured. Meanwhile the Portuguese international Joao Mario is doubtful because of a virus.
