Juventus hosts Udinese
The champion Juventus hosts Udinese at the Allianz Stadium in a match from the 16th round of the Serie A.
It might seems a little weird to say it, but these are the facts – Juventus are actually not leading the Serie A standings. The Bianconeri are currently second in the league, being two points behind Inter Milan. It’s pretty great that finally we have some competition for the title in Italy. We got used to see Juventus winning the title without any intrigue as well.
Right now Juve are in something like a mini-crisis. They won just one point in their last two games, which is not happening very often. First they made a surprising 2-2 draw against Sassuolo at home, which was followed by a 1-3 defeat during the visit to Lazio. Most probably the manager Maurizio Sarri is put under a big pressure at the moment.
Nothing worked out for the Old Lady against Lazio last week. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the score with his 7th Serie A goal for the season, but Luiz Felipe equalised for the hosts. Everything changed after Juan Cuadrado’s red card in the 69th minute. Soon after this Milinkovic-Savic put Lazio ahead, while Felipe Caicedo scored the third goal.
Udinese are not having their best season so far. They are 16th in the league with 15 points and they are dangerously close to the relegation zone. Udinese are without a win in four consecutive games at the moment.
Last week Udinese hosted Napoli at the Dacia Arena and won a point with a 1-1 draw. Kevin Lasagna scored the hosts’ only goal in the match.
That’s our quick preview for the Serie A game between Juventus and Udinese on Sunday. Juve can’t take a step back anymore, they have to win this one. And they know it very well.
