Leicester City welcomes Newcastle United

Leicester City welcomes Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium in a game from the seventh round of the English Premier League.

Leicester can be satisfied with the way they started the new season. Right now the Foxes are third in the standings with 11 points won, being ahead of some of the biggest clubs in the country. So far Brendan Rodgers is doing a pretty good job with the team, so reaching the European competitions won’t be impossible for the former champions.

After losing against Manchester United at the Old Trafford, Leicester City fixed their mistake and won against Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power a week ago. Harry Kane opened the score for Spurs, but Rodgers’ boys fought back and won the game with goals from Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison. This was the Foxes’ third win since the start of the campaign.

During the week Leicester faced Luton Town in a game from the Carabao Cup and won with 4-0. It was a nice showing from the Foxes away from home.

Newcastle United are struggling again in the Premier League, being currently 17th in the table with 5 points won and just one point above the relegation zone. Just as we said many times before, the Magpies’ new manager Steve Bruce will have a difficult task in keeping the team in the league.

So far Newcastle have won just one game, surprisingly beating Tottenham Hotspur in London. In the previous round the Magpies hosted Brighton & Hove Albion at home, but only won a point after a 0-0 draw at the St. James’ Park.

Newcastle are not participating in the Carabao Cup anymore, so they had the chance to rest during the week. Let’s see how this is going to affect their game against Leicester on Sunday. But make no mistake – the Foxes remain a favourite here.
