Manchester United – LASK
Finishing what they started – this is what Manchester United tend to do against LASK in a second game from Europa League’s 1/8-finals on Wednesday. After a terrific 5-0 win in the first game, United are now touching qualification to the 1/4-finals.
What Manchester United did in the first match in Linz is to end all intrigue about the tie. The Red Devils showed their best face in Austria and achieved a groundbreaking 5-0 win. What’s interesting is that they actually scored just one goal in the first half when Odion Ighalo put the ball in the net after an assist from Bruno Fernandes. The real fun happened in the second half when United scored four more goals. Daniel James, Mata, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira decided the tie for the visitors.
Manchester United already qualified for the Champions League, but be sure that they would want to win the Europa League as well. That’s their only chance for a trophy now. The manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still chasing his first trophy with the Red Devils, so this could be his chance.
Maybe Solskjaer will make some changes in his line-up. The result from the first match allows him to leave some key players on the bench if he decides to. And at the same time he could give some backup or young players a playing chance.
LASK can’t do nothing now, but to enjoy their visit to one of the most famous football grounds on the world Old Trafford. We believe that the Austrian team has quality, but the truth is Manchester United are just much better.
We don’t have any doubts that Manchester United will win their second game against LANZ as well. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make some changes in his line-up, but the English side remains much better at the moment.
