Milan – Celtic
AC Milan hosts Celtic at the San Siro in a match from Group H of Europa League. In this article we are going to provide you with some professional preview of this European fixture. Let’s get to work!
Milan are still in the race to win the first place in the group. Right now the Rossoneri are second in the group with 7 points being just one point behind the leader Lille. Stefano Pioli’s team have two more games to beat the French team for topping the group. They still have some chances to do it.
Last week Milan missed a good opportunity when they faced Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The match ended with a 1-1 draw, though. Samu Castillejo opened the score for the Italians, but Jonathan Bamba equalised for Lille. This draw allowed the Frenchmen to remain leaders in the group.
During the weekend Milan remained leaders in the Serie A. Even without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic the Rossoneri hosted Fiorentina and beat them 2-0 at the San Siro. Romagnoli and Kessie scored for the hosts.
For Celtic their participance in Europe for the 2020/21 season is a huge failure. The Scottish side don’t have any chances to reach the knockout phase anymore. Right now Celtic are 4th in the group with just one point won from four matches played.
Last week Neil Lennon’s team suffered a third defeat in this group. Celtic traveled to face Sparta Praha in the Czech capital, but suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat. Odsonne Edouard opened the score for Celtic, but it didn’t end very well for the Brits.
That’s our preview for the Europa league clash between AC Milan and Celtic on Thurdsay. The Rossoneri will be looking for the win here as they aim to win this group and beat Lille for the first place.
