Milan welcomes Napoli
Milan welcomes Napoli at the San Siro in a pretty good derby from the 13th round of the Serie A. Let’s take a look at this clash.
For Milan this is just another tough season. The Rossoneri are 14th in the standings with 13 points, already 11 points behind the Top 4 and the chance of return to the Champions League. The club started the campaign with Marco Giampaolo at the helm, but he was sacked and replaced by Stefano Pioli.
In their last five matches in the Calcio Milan won just once – against SPAL. The Rossoneri lost three of their last four games, including against Juventus in the previous round. At the Allianz Stadium Milan survived 77 minutes without conceding, but the Old Lady won the match with a winning goal from Paulo Dybala.
Stefano Pioli could make some adjustments to his starting line-up on Saturday. He left Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic on the bench against Juventus, but he could use them now in searching of something different in attack.
Napoli are having a pretty bad season so far. Usually being in the Top 3 of the league, right now the Azzurri are 7th in the standings with 19 points. They are without a win in their last four games, which is a sign of trouble in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
In their last game Napoli hosted Genoa at the San Paolo, but once again didn’t win. The game ended with a 0-0 draw, which was another dissapointment for the club’s fans.
If Napoli continue to perform like this, it’s quite possible that the board would think of a change. In other words, Carlo Ancelotti’s place right now does not look very safe.
Both Milan and Napoli are in a real need of wins right now. The visitors are the better team, but they are a team in crisis right now.
