Real Madrid – Atletico Madrid

The new leader in the Spanish La Liga Real Madrid hosts Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in a new edition of the big capital derby in Spain. That’s going to be a huge game, so let’s take a look at it.

Real Madrid overtook Barcelona at the first place in La Liga after the 1-0 win over Real Valladolid in the previous round. The day before Barca suffered a defeat against Valencia, which allowed Zinedine Zidane’s team to go 3 points clear ahead of the Catalans. On Saturday Los Blancos will try to keep this gap or even increase it.

We can say that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid met pretty recently. These two teams went head to head in the Spanish Super Copa final, which Real Madrid won after penalties. Now Atletico will try to avenge this defeat and eventually hurt their big rival at the Bernabeu.

Diego Simeone’s team is obviously having some problems with scoring goals at the moment. Atletico didn’t score a single goal in their last two games in La Liga.

We believe that Real Madrid are in a better shape than Atletico Madrid at the moment, which makes them a favourite, especially at the Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos would like to keep the first place in the league and they are going to be hungry for the win. Let’s see.
