Real Madrid – Real Valladolid
The champion Real Madrid hosts Real Valladolid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in a match from the 4th round of La Liga. Here are our thoughts about this fixture in the Spanish capital.
During the weekend Real Madrid recorded their first win in La Liga for the season. Los Blancos didn’t have it easy against Real Betis, just as we expected, but they still secured a 3-2 win. Federico Valverde and Sergio Ramos scored for Madrid, while Betis’ Emerson scored himself an own goal.
After the game Real Betis’ manager Manuel Pellegrini was not happy with VAR because Ramos’ winning goal came after a controversial penalty kick.
Contrary to Real Madrid’s first game, Zinedine Zidane chose not to use the two Brazilians Vinicius and Rodrygo against Betis. Surprisingly he put Luka Jovic in the starting eleven while Modric and Isco also started from the bench. Meanwhile Eden Hazard still can’t make his debut for the season as he struggles with his fitness.
Real Valladolid faced Celta on Sunday and only won a point with a 1-1 draw at home. Aspas opened the score for the visitors, but in the 66th minute Valladolid got the chance to execute a penalty kick. Sergi Guardiola took the ball and beat Ivan Villar for the final result – 1-1.
It’s still not completely clear what’s happening with the fitness of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio. The two wingers were not included in the squad for Real Madrid’s last game, but maybe they will return for the next one.
Meanwhile Javo Moyano, Ruben Alcaraz, Kiko Olivas and Jordi Masip are having injury problems in Valladolid’s squad.
That’s our short preview for the La Liga game between Real Madrid and Real Valladolid on Wednesday. Los Blancos will try to record their second win for the season, but Valladolid are a tough opponent – the champions must be serious in this one.
