Tottenham Hotspur – Liverpool
Tottenham Hotspur hosts Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the big derby of the 22th round of the Premier League. It’s going to be an exciting game, we have no doubts about that.
Tottenham will not give up on chasing a Top 4 finish and another qualification for the Champions League. At this moment Spurs are 6th in the league with 30 points, but 6 points behind the 4th Chelsea. Of course, this is not an impossible gap, especially when we have so many games until the end of the season.
It’s worrying, though, that Tottenham won just one point in their last two league games against Norwich City and Southampton. The fans hoped that the team will score two wins in these two matches, but it didn’t happen. Jose Mourinho had a strong start of his Tottenham career, but now he’s facing some difficulties.
Last week Spurs visited Middlesbrough in a match from the FA Cup, but the game at the Riverside ended without a winner – 1-1. Lucas Moura scored Tottenham’s only goal in the game.
Liverpool are looking unstoppable in their hunt for the title this season. The Reds are arguably the best team in the league, being leaders with 58 points and almost impossible record of 19 wins and one draw. In 20 games played so far, Liverpool are still unbeaten in the Premier League. That’s really impressive.
Last week Liverpool recorded two wins in the matter of few days. First they did the job against Sheffield United at the Anfield, while this win was followed by a 1-0 win against domestic rivals Everton in the FA Cup. The youngster Curtis Jones scored the winning goal. In this game the manager Jurgen Klopp chose to rest all of his star players.
Can Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho cause Liverpool’s first loss in the Premier League this season? Well, surely it won’t be an easy task, because right now the Reds are just incredible. We won’t be surprised if Liverpool make another step towards the title.
